PROPOSAL

Title : Restore

Genre : Mystery/sci-fiction

Duration : 8-15minutes
Type : Short film

A postman must deliver a package to a new address. The house looks as if it is haunted. It is morning when he arrives but when he enters the house, it becomes night. He knocks on the door, the door swings open reveiling a long hall way with doors on either side with numbers on them. (It is obviously an apartment block). He doesn’t know where to deliver the package because the unit number on the parcel very oddly has been pixelated, so he goes from door to door, meeting strange new people. The door numbers on every door are not consistent where it jumps from 1,2,87,937,32 etc thus making it very uncanny. He will meet 3-4 people in the house one of which will be a man in a suit, a very seductive woman and an old woman. These 3 people will help him out in search of the the person he should deliver the package to. How the story would end is that when he reaches the final door, the pixelated unit number on the parcel becomes visable and so he slips it under the door ( after numerous knocks and calls). Upon sliding it in, everything goes back to normal ; the unit number on every door goes back to normal in a blink of an eye ( in order : 1,2,3,4,5) and it becomes daylight again.

New Media components :
- Stop motion would be used. (Like in Ju’On, they used stop motion for the movement of the ghost.)

- Special effects
- Camera tricks

Director and Producer – Cheryl

Scriptwriter and First Assistant Director - Louis

Camera man and production manager – Pei Ying

Editting and production coordinator – Justin

Editting assistant and lightings – Felicia

Sound man – Justin

Budget :
Booking of the a hotel room for a day would be $65. Hotel – Grandmax Hotel located at Little India. Depending on how long we take to shoot, we might consider booking for 2 days whch means $65 X 2 = $130.

Costumes/attires : We might just get

Talents :
Getting people we know so its free labour

Location :
Little India, Grandmax Hotel. There might be some changes if grandmax hotel doesnt approve of us filming there.

2nd alternative location would be one of the hotels located at Balestier. Our aim is to get a hotel which looks dilapidated to give it a more mysterious vibe.

P/S: the budget of the grandmax hotel were estimated (as recalled by cheryl) , we should make a trip down to check it up soon, meanwhile we’ll just write that.

Deskar road anyone?
